Today we're praying for God to give us a new view of food. Some of us have feared food. Some have treated it like a savior. But the best way to interact with food is to see it as a good gift from God. God designed us to eat. He designed our bodies to run on food. And, he gave us a wide variety of food textures and flavors and a tongue and mouth that could sense them all. If we were supposed to live on manna (the kind of bread God gave the Israelites every day when they were wandering through the desert), he would not have designed our bodies this way. Neither would he have promised those Israelites that someday they'd go to a land of "milk and honey" -- implying that someday, they'd be satisfied by sweeter and richer foods!

Today we pray for help in recategorizing food. We pray for help in listening to our bodies so that we can learn to eat more intuitively. We also pray for release from rules, restrictions, and mental strongholds around food.

Today's Action Step and Verse for the Day Around Praying for a New View of Food

Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:31, KJV: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31, NASB: Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

Action step: Write a note to God thanking him for the gift of food.
