Today's episode is for EVERY man and woman who has ever had an on-again, off-again relationship with dieting.

Have you learned that certain foods are "good" and certain foods are "bad"? Have you lived a life of going on and going off of diets? Ever wonder why so many people still go on diets even though all the data shows that 95% of diets don't work and 80% of people who lose weight on a diet will gain it back within a year. Just getting skinnier actually doesn't make you healthier. Today I talk to an expert on this topic - Alexandra MacKillop. She's a holistic healthcare provider who helps people recover from unhealthy relationships with food and their bodies. She's written a brand new Christian book called, "Fulfilled" and it's all about the harm years of dieting and diet culture has done to us and what we can do to find health again. Alexandra believes that health has very little to do with that number you see on the scale. She'll encourage you in this episode with some truth about why crash dieting to lose that ten pounds quick can do long-term harm to our bodies.

About Alexandra MacKillop: She's a food scientist, author, and functional medicine physician. Her passion lies in helping women care for their health, heal from patterns of dieting, and embrace who God created them to be. She writes weekly blog posts on these topics at AlexandraMacKillop.com, and her faith-based, non-diet book Fulfilled will be released in March.
