Michael Foust recently sat down with Kay Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" fame to talk about "The Blind," the new movie detailing the highs and lows of her marriage to patriarch Phil Robertson. The matriarch of the Duck Dynasty business empire says she hopes the upcoming film about her family will encourage couples to “fight for” their marriage when all hope seems lost, just as she did when her husband Phil kicked her and the children out of the home when they were younger. The Blind (PG-13), scheduled to be released in theaters Sept. 28, tells the story of how Phil and Kay Robertson fell in love and then persevered during a split. Phil’s battles with anger and alcohol addiction are central to the plot. During one key scene, an out-of-control and drunk Phil kicks Kay and their young kids out of the house at night. The scene is based on a real-life event. “When Phil put us out, that was a humbling moment, a very humbling moment. And the boys were confused. They cried. I cried,” Kay Robertson told Christian Headlines. “... The boys would say, ‘Mom is daddy coming? Is daddy coming?’ And I'd say, ‘We're just gonna pray for him. We're gonna pray for him.’ And I said, ‘But we don't want him like he is, because the devil has a hold of him.’ And I would even say, ‘The devil is who's controlling your dad right now. And that's why he acts bad. He's a good man. But he needs God. And he needs the devil out of his life.’ And our boys would just pray for him every night.” At the time, Phil Robertson was managing a bar. Sound of Freedom opened as the No. 1 movie in America and will pass $100 million gross in the coming days despite few in Hollywood giving it a chance to succeed. The studio’s first release this year, His Only Son, surprised movie observers by opening at No. 3 the weekend before Easter. “The theater chains are incredibly excited” about Angel’s success, Purdie said. The award-winning director who helped make Jesus Revolution and I Can Only Imagine box office hits says the goal behind his latest project is to build a faith-based, values-driven movie studio that will transform society with stories of hope and that will stand the test of time by outliving the people who founded it.  Director Jon Erwin last week announced he had co-founded a groundbreaking new independent studio, The Wonder Project, that already has more than $75 million in seed and Series A funding and that will create movies and television shows for the faith- and values-oriented audience. Michael Foust recently sat down with actress Rose Reid to discuss her upcoming show 'A Thousand Tomorrows.' Here is a look at their conversation: Actress Rose Reid didn’t have to think long before accepting a role in the new Pure Flix series 'A Thousand Tomorrows', which follows the story of a female barrel racer who falls in love with a bull rider. Reid grew up around horses. In fact, she was actually a barrel racer. “When I was born, [my mom] was like, this girl is going to ride [horses] before she rides bicycles. So indeed I did,” Reid told Christian Headlines, laughing. Reading the script, she said, was like a dream come true. “This is exactly what I've always dreamed of doing.’ And it was just such a dream to get to work with the animals again,” she said. 'A Thousand Tomorrows' is based on the bestselling novel by Karen Kingsbury and tells the story of a cocky bull rider named Cody Gunnar (Colin Ford) who has a history of pushing people away until he meets Reid’s character, Ali Daniels. Kingsbury and her son Tyler Russell co-wrote the script. A well-known actor in The Chosen is opening up about his faith journey, saying he had never had a personal encounter with Jesus until he took the role in the Bible-based hit series and was influenced by Christians behind the scenes. Nick Shakoour, who portrays Zebedee, said that the series has had a significant impact on his life. His character is the father of James and John. "I literally felt like I was given a brand new body – brand new everything," he said, choking back tears. "... But since that's happened, I don't have the sensation of hunger, and I don't get thirsty. So now I've got to go out of my way to remind myself to drink water and eat – and I [formerly] was someone that would [eat] six meals a day … for the workouts. And it's like God came and went, 'No, you don't need all those six meals.' Michael Foust recently sat down with actress Charlene Tilton to discuss her PureFlix movie "Heaven Sent." Here is a look at their conversation: The legendary actress, best known for her role in the award-winning television series Dallas, says she has seen God's hand on her life and that her Christian faith is the key to daily peace. Charlene Tilton starred in over 240 episodes of the Emmy-winning series Dallas from 1978 to 1990 before transitioning to movies. Her latest project is the Pure Flix romantic comedy Heaven Sent, which she calls the "best thing I've ever done." She and co-star Karen Abercrombie portray middle-aged friends who get a second chance at romance. Tilton told Christian Headlines that God has guided her through life's storms. She lived in foster care as a child. In 2010, her fiance Cheddy Hart died of a heart attack. "I've… seen the hand of God in my life since I can remember, at five years old. God's hand has been on me," Tilton told Christian Headlines. "And I know His hand's on everybody, but it's just if you choose to acknowledge it, and feel it and be still and listen to that still small voice that will guide you and show you the ways to go." Her Christian faith, she said, means "everything" to her. She noted that she starts every day with prayer and Bible reading, adding that she gets in the "presence of God" because "that's where you find the fullness of joy." The comedy film, Unexpected, is based on the book "Enslaved By Ducks," and tells the story of a couple battling infertility who accumulate various types of animals to try and fill the emotional void. Halfway through the film, the couple faces the possibility of adoption. It stars Joseph Mazzello (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Social Network) and Anna Camp (The Help, 5000 Blankets) in the lead roles. In this episode, Michael sits down with Christian musician Matthew West to talk about holiday traditions, his songwriting process and his new special Christmas Concert “Come Home for Christmas” out TODAY! On Dec. 22 at 8 p.m., West’s holiday special, Come Home for Christmas, airs on TBN, showcasing classic tunes and some of his top original songs. It was recorded at Belmont University’s Fisher Center and includes scenes from his annual Christmas-themed event, also called Come Home for Christmas, held in Franklin, Tennessee. The TBN special will also include classic Christmas carols such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Winter Wonderland. It concludes with a prayer by Matthew's father, Pastor Joe West.
