Bulletproof First Responder: Mental Health Challenges in the First Responder Community, Causes and Solutions
One area that we do not focus on enough is the mental health challenges of those working in the First Responder community. Dealing daily with traumatic and potentially dangerous situations, years of shift work and mandatory overtime all contribute to high levels of anxiety, depression, often suicide among those who keep us safe. Thankfully, these challenges, as well as resources and solutions, are finally being recognized and increasingly prioritized by police and fire departments. I am thankful to be able to have that conversation on todays episode of The March or Die Show with my good friend Danny Coon.
Danny is a retired Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy who has turned his focus to the many challenges facing our First Responders. Through his blog, new book, and regular media appearances he is not only raising awareness, but pointing to solutions for those who are struggling. This episode is for anyone who serves their community in uniform and for those of us who want to know how to support them.
