A Prayer for Purity of Speech
April 5, 2024 - 3 min
You've probably seen the meme that says, “I love Jesus and I cuss a little!” It's meant to be funny, but is it funny when held up to the measuring stick of God's word? The words that we choose to speak reflect what is in our hearts. Just choosing to eliminate words from our vocabulary is not the answer. We need to evaluate and find out why those words are a part of our vocabulary in the first place. ~ Gina Smith Do you question whether or not God cares about the words you choose to use? A Prayer to Choose the Good Portion
April 4, 2024 - 5 min
“But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her’” (Luke 10:41-42). Most of my life, especially since becoming a mom, I have been in what feels like a constant rotation of busyness, overwhelm, anxiety, and frustration over all there is to do. Marthas, like myself, like to push back against the idea of resting because someone has to do it all. But the truth is that sometimes we need to slow down and sit at Jesus’ feet. ~ Amber Palmer Do you struggle to be intentional about making space to get with Jesus and receive His peace? A Prayer to Believe God Saves
April 3, 2024 - 6 min
“And they went and woke him, saying, ‘Save us, Lord; We are perishing.’ And he said to them, ‘why are you afraid, O you of little faith?’ Then he rose and rebuked to the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm period and the men marveled, saying, ‘What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him'" (Matthew 8:25-27). I need to remember daily that I cannot save myself. I do not have that authority or power. But thankfully I know the one who does. No matter the storm life throws at me, I can do as Habakkuk did in Habakkuk 3:17-19 and take a position that no matter what storms might come, “I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength.” ~ Erin H. Warren Is there an area of your life where you struggle to trust in his power and authority? A Prayer for Living Out our Faith
April 2, 2024 - 4 min
“This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith" (1 Timothy 1:18-19). We may not know why bad things happen to us, but it's important to stay true to our faith through it all. We must trust that the Lord has his reasons for allowing things to happen to us. Sometimes, God has a lesson to teach us or to teach others through us. Regardless of his reasons, we can always rest in the knowledge that the Lord is in control.~ Connie Albers Have you struggled to live out your faith when you don't understand what God's doing? A Prayer for Getting to Jesus
April 1, 2024 - 5 min
“Then Daniel went to his house and informed his friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, about the matter. So that they might request compassion from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon" (Daniel 2:17-18). Over the years, having a group of friends I know will actually pray when I ask for help, who have supported me, encouraged me, corrected me, and poured life into me in the name of Jesus—has blessed me beyond measure. Those are the kind of friends I beg God to give my children.  The kind who will do anything to get them to Jesus. ~ Brooke McGlothlin Are you concerned about the influence of friends in your child's life? A Prayer for Freedom from Fear
March 29, 2024 - 5 min
“And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, ‘You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.’ But he denied it, saying, ‘I neither know nor understand what you mean.’ And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed'" (Mark 14:66-68). Whatever valley of doubt, worry, or fear we walk through, God has always gone before us! He opens doors of stone, shines light in the darkness, and sends messages to guide us as we continue to seek him. ~Julie Kieras Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for the New to Come
March 28, 2024 - 3 min
“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). Mary the mother of Jesus, began to store up her experiences with Christ and ponder them in her heart long before she knew what he would do for the world. She didn't know that she would be able to live with resurrection power because of her son, but she chose to hold on to what she knew and ponder it. ~Christie Thomas Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Seasons of Sacrifice
March 27, 2024 - 4 min
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). John 3:16 is probably the most well known bible verse of all time. Children memorize it. Street corner preachers put it on signs. Quarterbacks write it on their eye black. Most of us can easily rattle it off without giving much thought to its meaning. God loved us so much that he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save us from death and give us eternal life. A Christian friend once told me that motherhood is a season of sacrifice. As moms, we set aside many of our own desires to nurture and care for our children. But the sacrifices I make pale in comparison to the sacrifice my savior made for me. ~Suzanne Gosselin Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Being a Living Testimony
March 26, 2024 - 4 min
“Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the son of man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are Christ, the son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven'" (Matthew 16:13-17). In order for us to be a living testimony, one that will point others to the character of our father, we must get to know him by immersing ourselves in his word. The Bible is not a book about us, and it is not a book of answers and applications for us to read and apply to our personal problems. It is a book about God, his character, and how he works in the lives of his people. ~Gina Smith Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for God's Mercy
March 25, 2024 - 6 min
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin" (Psalm 51:1-2)! On the cross, Christ absorbed all the sin of the world into his own body. Like a sponge, he soaked in every iniquity from time past to time future. As a covering, Christ stands between US and God, so God no longer sees our sins, but only Jesus. Our sins are covered, blotted out. Washed away. ~Julie Kieras Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family!
