A Prayer for the New to Come
March 28, 2024 - 3 min
“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). Mary the mother of Jesus, began to store up her experiences with Christ and ponder them in her heart long before she knew what he would do for the world. She didn't know that she would be able to live with resurrection power because of her son, but she chose to hold on to what she knew and ponder it. ~Christie Thomas Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Seasons of Sacrifice
March 27, 2024 - 4 min
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). John 3:16 is probably the most well known bible verse of all time. Children memorize it. Street corner preachers put it on signs. Quarterbacks write it on their eye black. Most of us can easily rattle it off without giving much thought to its meaning. God loved us so much that he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save us from death and give us eternal life. A Christian friend once told me that motherhood is a season of sacrifice. As moms, we set aside many of our own desires to nurture and care for our children. But the sacrifices I make pale in comparison to the sacrifice my savior made for me. ~Suzanne Gosselin Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Being a Living Testimony
March 26, 2024 - 4 min
“Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the son of man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are Christ, the son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven'" (Matthew 16:13-17). In order for us to be a living testimony, one that will point others to the character of our father, we must get to know him by immersing ourselves in his word. The Bible is not a book about us, and it is not a book of answers and applications for us to read and apply to our personal problems. It is a book about God, his character, and how he works in the lives of his people. ~Gina Smith Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for God's Mercy
March 25, 2024 - 6 min
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin" (Psalm 51:1-2)! On the cross, Christ absorbed all the sin of the world into his own body. Like a sponge, he soaked in every iniquity from time past to time future. As a covering, Christ stands between US and God, so God no longer sees our sins, but only Jesus. Our sins are covered, blotted out. Washed away. ~Julie Kieras Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for God to Shield Us
March 22, 2024 - 6 min
“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head" (Psalm 3:3). In a time of danger, David believed in the power and desire of God to be the shield he desperately needed. The opposition said, “there is no salvation for him in God,” but God's peace proved them wrong. How have you experienced unfairness or disgrace? What would you say to God the shield if you confided your need for protection to him? What would it take for you to lay down and rest in total peace? ~Julie Sanders Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Being Slow to Anger
March 21, 2024 - 4 min
"Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly" (Proverbs 14:29). The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. It doesn't even produce godliness in our kids. In fact, this week's passage tells us that when we rush to anger, we are exalting foolishness. Uggg. You know what it looks like. You've got a busy day planned, but if everything goes right, you can get it done. Your 11-year-old picks just that time to have one of those preteen meltdowns. He or she starts throwing around accusations. "You don't love me. You don't care about me. You don't understand me!" It's hard not to lose your temper. ~Melanie Young Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer for Seeking Rest
March 20, 2024 - 5 min
"The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters" (Psalm 23:1-2). As a mama investing daily into her children, I grow weary and worried in the journey. I watch my children making choices and know that although I can lead them in the way they should go, it's only the Good Shepherd who can care for them when they get stuck or need comfort I can't give. There is no pretending that we ourselves are prone to wonder and forget to rest when everything the world has to offer distracts us. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, will take our hand and lead us to the quiet places. It's here we can release our cares and find comfort and rest in his promises. ~September McCarthy Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer to Trust God for Provision
March 19, 2024 - 4 min
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment" (1 Timothy 6:17). How can we live in this world but never lose sight of God as our provider? How might we teach our children to do the same? Even the wealthiest men in the world are not satisfied by their mansions, fancy cars, or the security of having billions in a bank account. In fact, many of the wealthiest men ultimately found themselves lonely, miserable, and broken. ~Monica Swanson Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer to be Amazed by Jesus
March 18, 2024 - 5 min
"...and they were all amazed so that they questioned among themselves saying, 'What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him'" (Mark 1:27). When was the last time you were amazed? Truly, think about it. It's tricky isn't it? I know I've been amazed by how quickly my house can get messy or how the dryer shrinks my jeans. I've been amazed by the resources it takes to keep a family thriving or amazed by how long it takes to get through a grocery store checkout. But it's possible I have weakened a bit of the word’s intended potency. In the casualness of our language, the contorting and comfortability that perhaps changes with time and culture, we lose something, don't we? That's a risk, a loss. But we lose something far greater when, with the complacency of our words, we water down our understanding of the power of Jesus Christ. ~Katie Westenberg Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A Prayer to Understand Grace
March 15, 2024 - 4 min
"Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, that's why she loved so much. But the one who is forgiven little loves little" (Luke 7:47). Whether you grew up in the church or not, we all have been forgiven much. Verses like Galatians 5:16-21 make it pretty clear that God sees sexual immorality, drunkenness, jealousy, and selfish ambition as all the same. Though we see some sin as “big sin” and others as “little” God doesn’t. They all sent his Son to the cross, and Jesus died for each and every one. Wherever you are today in your walk with God, let that thought sink in. ~Tara L Cole Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family!
