Hard-Pressed, But Not Crushed (Meditation on 2 Corinthians 4:8-10)
Some days feel crushing – like everything is caving in at once.
Paul understood this when he said:
We are hard-pressed, but not crushed.
Perplexed, but not in despair.
Persecuted, but not abandoned.
Struck down, but not destroyed.
If you’re feeling hard-pressed, listen in for a fresh breath of hope.
Take a few quiet moments to listen to this Scripture from 2 Corinthians, reflect on its meaning, and respond to God's invitation. As we journey through this passage, we discover that even in the midst of challenging seasons, God is with us, and we can have hope because of Jesus.
Once you’ve listened to the Scripture Meditation, don’t miss the bonus episode with pastor and author Benjamin Windle (Releases 9/6/23). We discuss his new book, Good Catastrophe, and how we can find hope in Christ amid challenging circumstances.

The entire meditation text is as follows:
2 Corinthians 4:8-10, NLT
8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. 10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
