Ian Simkins grew up in a bustling home outside Detroit as the oldest of seven homeschooled siblings. He was deeply influenced by his community at Fairlane Alliance Church, where his passion for ministry first took root. At just 16, Ian delivered his first sermon, a daunting experience that sparked a lifelong love for ministry. Initially, Ian planned to pursue music or psychology on a warm coast, but God had different plans. He eventually followed God's call to Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, where he studied Youth Ministry and Adolescent Studies. His time there was formative, filled with both challenges and growth in local church ministry. In 2006, Ian served in northern India, an experience that profoundly shaped his perspective. Upon returning, he became the Pastor of Student Ministries at Poplar Creek Church. A few years later, during a time of great difficulty for the church, Ian stepped into the role of Lead Pastor, guiding the congregation through significant challenges and witnessing remarkable growth and transformation. In 2016, Ian married Katie and took on the role of Teaching Pastor at Community Christian Church in Chicagoland. Two years later, he began hosting *The Common Good* on AM1160 (WYLL). By 2021, Ian and his family felt called to a new chapter, leading him to become the Lead Pastor of Teaching and Vision at The Bridge, just outside Nashville, TN. Instead, Joseph recognized God's hand in every step, saying to his brothers, "It was not you who sent me here, but God." This realization, Jesse explained, is liberating for many who are trapped in the pain of their past. By understanding that God has a purpose even in our suffering, we can begin to see our trials as part of a larger divine plan, just as Joseph did. Forgiveness: A Path to Freedom A significant portion of Jesse's message was dedicated to the theme of forgiveness. He shared how Joseph's forgiveness of his brothers, despite their betrayal, was a powerful testament to God's work in his life. Fighting for Peace: A Journey Through Faith In this heartwarming and profound episode, Josh Baldwin shares a deeply personal story about his family's struggle with anxiety and the divine peace they found through faith. Baldwin, known for his powerful corporate worship songs, takes us on a journey of vulnerability, resilience, and the unyielding power of God's peace. The Turbulent Season Baldwin begins by referencing John 14:27, a verse that promises peace from Jesus, unlike any peace the world can give. This verse became a beacon of hope during a tumultuous time in his family’s life. In January 2023, while Baldwin was frequently traveling, his wife began experiencing severe anxiety and panic attacks, reminiscent of a similar episode four years prior. This unexpected resurgence of anxiety plunged their home into a period of deep distress and uncertainty. Determined to find peace, Baldwin canceled his engagements to stay home and support his wife. They sought the Lord fervently, praying for understanding and relief. During this season, Baldwin had a scheduled songwriting session with friends, including one who had flown in from Australia. Despite his reluctance to leave his wife and feeling creatively drained, he attended the session. Initially, Baldwin envisioned the song as a personal anthem for his family. However, as they repeatedly listened to it, the song’s profound impact became clear.
