What Is Contemplation and Why Is it an Important Rhythm?
What does it mean to contemplate and why is that an important element of the Sabbath Rhythm? In the final episode of the rhythms over resolutions series, we dive into defining the practice of contemplation and its connection to meditating on God’s goodness and our belovedness. As a central aspect of the Sabbath, contemplation invites us to reflect, think, and meditate on the love of God and who He has created us to be: His beloved children.
We will together discuss Henri Nouwen’s Book, Life of the Beloved, and explore the truth of our belovedness and how, through weekly contemplation, we continue to become beloved. Living beloved begins with claiming our chosenness, blessedness, and brokenness, so that we may, like Christ, be given to the World.
