Jason Thacker serves as the chair of research in technology ethics and director of the research institute at The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Do not be afraid. That is the first phrase from the lips of the angel of the Lord in verse 5, “Do not be afraid.” If we do a quick BibleGateway search for the words “do not fear,” we will find about 30 verses that include this phrase. It is a common emotion if God encourages so many biblical characters with these words.
